Diagnostics

We run Mercury CDS G3, the latest factory diagnostic system, plus multibrand tooling for other makes. Plug in, read the engine's real history, fix the actual problem.

The team

The people on the tools

Our technicians are permanent staff, not contractors, so the person who serviced your outboard last season is still here this season. The bench mixes Mercury and MerCruiser factory training with factory trained ex Honda and Yamaha hands. There is plenty of in house training on the bench, and everyone attends OEM backed training camps every year, so the knowledge stays current and it stays at MCM.

There is no cheap and good in the marine world.

It is one or the other.

Repower and sales

Honest repower advice

An outboard only performs as well as its match to the hull. Weight on the transom, shaft length, gearing and prop matter as much as horsepower. We look at how you actually use the boat before we talk numbers, and if your current motor has good life left in it we will say so, sometimes a rebuild in our clean air build room is the smarter spend. When a repower stacks up we handle the lot: supply, rigging, controls, prop selection and sea trial, and if the helm wants new gauges or a chartplotter while the rigging is apart, our electronics team fits it in the same visit.

New Mercury outboards

Prices shown are Mercury's recommended retail. When there is a factory campaign running we show the deal right here. For a sharp price, give us a call. There is usually a better number than the sticker for a boat we are rigging.

Evinrude owners

We still look after Evinrude

The market moved on from Evinrude. We did not. There are factory trained Evinrude technicians on the bench, so your E-TEC or E-TEC G2 is serviced, repaired and supported here with genuine BRP parts, warranty work included. New engines stopped in 2020, but the ones on the water still deserve to run right, and when the day comes to repower we will talk you through the Mercury options with the same honest advice as everyone else.

Questions

Straight answers

How much does an outboard service cost?

It depends on the motor and where it sits in the service cycle. Mercury runs a clear three year schedule: two simpler, cheaper services, then every third one takes a few extra parts and costs more. We recommend running to it because it takes the surprises out. If a service somewhere else was cheaper, odds are something was missed. These are precision machines living in salt water, so we run a thorough set of checks every year to protect your investment instead of racing to be the cheapest quote in town. If anything untoward turns up once we are into the basics, you get a call with a report and an estimate to put it right. Nothing extra happens without your go ahead.

How often should I service my outboard?

Every 100 hours or once a year, whichever comes first. Flushing with fresh water after every saltwater trip stretches the life of everything. If the boat has sat unused for months, get it serviced before the season starts, stale fuel causes more breakdowns than worn parts.

Do you service other outboard brands?

Yes. We are factory trained on Mercury and MerCruiser, and the team includes factory trained ex Honda and Yamaha technicians. We service Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and most other outboard brands too, and our multibrand diagnostic tooling means fault finding is not limited to the badges on our sign.

Do you still service Evinrude?

Yes. We have factory trained Evinrude technicians on the team and service E-TEC and E-TEC G2 engines with genuine BRP parts, including warranty work on engines still covered. Evinrude stopped building new engines in 2020, but yours is still fully supported here, and if you ever decide to repower we will walk you through the Mercury options.
