Everything at the helm and behind it
If it draws power on a trailer boat or launch, we fit it, from bilge pumps and batteries to trolling motors and everything between. A single sounder or a full helm, across Northland.
We investigate and spec every system for the boat and how you use it, not to make a sale. If spending more will not change anything on the water, we tell you, and we tell you why. That advice comes from designing and installing full electrical fitouts on multiple new vessels built in survey, plus system wide upgrades on boats of every size.
Trained and backed by the brands we fit
We are factory trained and backed agents for Simrad, Lowrance, B&G and Mastervolt. For you that means gear specced right for the boat the first time, installs that keep their factory warranty, and a direct line into the factory when a job needs answers.
What a proper install looks like
We plan cable runs before a hole gets drilled. We label wiring at both ends, support it along its run and terminate it with the right connectors, not whatever was in the van. We seal deck and hull penetrations and test every network drop before the panels go back on. Then we commission the system on the water and walk you through it at handover, so you leave knowing how to use what you paid for.
Electronics we fit and sell
Every unit we sell, we can spec, fit and support. The full store is on its way at shop.ivory-squid-689976.hostingersite.com.

Not sure which fishfinder?
Seven straight questions. The right unit at NZ street prices, matched by the crew who fit them.
Lithium house banks, done as a system
A lithium battery upgrade on a boat is a system job, not a battery swap. We design and install marine lithium house banks at Marsden Cove, built around the loads you actually run, with the charging matched so alternator, shore power and solar all behave together. We are factory trained and backed on Mastervolt lithium systems, and we wire them for how the boat is really used.
One ecosystem, one language
We build on Mastervolt because it is one ecosystem: batteries, chargers, inverters and monitoring all designed together, speaking one communication protocol across every device. No third party boxes bolted on and hoping they talk. It is the same reason Mastervolt is the electrical system behind most premium level factory builds: every part is made to work with every other part, and it shows in how the boat runs.
Full electrical and electronics refits
A refit puts the whole boat right, the wiring behind the helm as much as the screen at the wheel. We strip out the tired gear, design the replacement as one system and fit it properly, from a single display swap to a full launch helm and power upgrade. Most refits happen on the Marsden Cove Marina hardstand, a short walk from the workshop, and for boats heading offshore we take on planned refit work in the Pacific Islands.
Straight answers
Can you fit gear I bought somewhere else?
Yes. We would rather supply it, because then the spec, the warranty and the install all sit with us, and our pricing is sharper than most people expect. If you have a price from somewhere else, give us a chance before you buy, we understand shopping around. If you already own the gear we will still fit it properly. Just know that if it turns out to be the wrong spec for the boat, the time to sort that is on the job.
How long does a typical install take?
A single display or VHF is usually one day. A fishfinder installation with a new transducer and clean network is one to two. A helm running several displays with radar and autopilot is three to five days. We give you a firm timeline when we quote.
Do you do full helm upgrades?
Yes. Full helm upgrades are core work here, from a tired dash with mixed gear to one integrated system built around new displays. We plan the layout with you, cut and blank the dash where needed, and if a mounting part does not exist we design it in house and have it machined through our CNC network.
Will my old gear talk to new gear?
Usually. Most gear from the last decade runs NMEA2000, so new displays can sit on the same network as older sensors and instruments. Engine data rides the same network too, so a new display can show revs, fuel and temperature from a Volvo Penta or Mercury motor once we tie it in. Older NMEA0183 gear sometimes needs a gateway, and some of it is not worth keeping. We check what is on the boat before we quote, so there are no surprises.
Is lithium worth it on my boat?
Lithium is the right call when the boat will actually use it: big house loads, long spells off the charger, or weight worth saving. If your AGM bank has served the boat fine and only needs replacing through age or a deep discharge, we will usually say fit good AGMs again and keep the difference in your pocket. When lithium does stack up, we build the house bank around your real loads at Marsden Cove and match the charging so alternator, shore power and solar all behave together.
